Abstract:Superoxide dismutase (SOD) protein that may be closely related to the enhancement of stress resistance by using two-dimensional gel electrophoresis. T. asperellum SOD (TaSOD) consists of 154 amino acids and shows high homology with T. koningii SOD. The mycelial growth rate of the TaSOD knockout mutant (ΔTaSOD) was significantly slower than that of wild type. In addition, ΔTaSOD showed a decreased osmotic stress resistance and antagonistic activity against Curvularia lunata, Fusarium verticillioides, and Rhizoctonia solani. Results showed that TaSOD plays a vital role in regulating the stress response and antagonism of T. asperellum.
